Frequently asked questions

How long is your waiting list for an assessment?

We hold a waiting list several months in advance of appointments but we review this in a weekly waiting list meeting.

How soon after an assessment do you complete the report?

An assessment report is usually completed within four weeks of an assessment taking place. This may depend on receipt of outstanding assessments, such as questionnaires, being returned in a timely manner.

Do you have a cancellation list?

We do run a cancellation list where we place requests for urgent, time critical, assessments. This gets reviewed each week in our waiting list meeting.

Can we choose which clinician we refer to?

Each of our clinicians has specific areas of expertise and we do our best to match their skills to the requirements of the referral.

Do you charge for cancelled appointments?

The full assessment fee is charged for non-attendance with 48 hours or less notice. Please ask our Practice Director,  for a copy of our full terms and conditions.

Can we choose where to have our appointment?

Appointment locations are allocated according to clinical need. Generally, medicolegal assessment appointments take place at 10 Harley Street, London. On occasion, and by agreement only, domiciliary visits can be arranged. For ASD assessments, the venue will be Carmarthen, unless agreed otherwise. Assessments away from Carmarthen or Harley Street will attract travel costs. Please ask our Practice Director,  for a copy of our full terms and conditions.
